TORONTO — Open Farm announced the appointment of Mona Kennedy to chief financial officer on Jan. 30. In her role, Kennedy will support the pet food company’s growth plans, leading its financial, legal and informational technology operations.

Prior to joining Open Farm, Kennedy served as chief financial officer at Roots Corporation, where she helped expand the company’s gross margin and improved its operating profitability. She also served as vice president of finance at Indigo and held several financial and leadership roles with Maple Leaf Foods and Bombardier Aerospace.

“Mona brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with over two decades of finance and corporate strategy experience to Open Farm,” said Isaac Langleben, chief executive officer of Open Farm. “She has a proven track record for delivering business results while scaling for growth and increasing profitability. Kennedy has extensive experience in external reporting, capital investment, accounting, tax and internal auditing.
